Performing precision work with the hand plane is almost considered a lost art today, In this class you will learn this art and get hands-on experience using a variety of hand planes.
In this class you will learn about the various types of hand planes and how to use them. Discussion will include tuning up your plane, sharpening techniques, sources for planes and how to tell if a used plane is worth the price. get hands-on experience using well tuned planes to dimension lumber, correct wind, shoot edges and ends, flatten panels, and make and "sweeten up" joints. Planes and materials will be supplied. Bring your plane and we'll sharpen and tune it up.
