James Krenov, who passed away last year, was a master craftsman and teacher who had a strong influence on contemporary woodworking. He established a degree program for professional woodworkers at the College of the Redwoods in fort Bragg, CA. On of the first student projects there is a wooden finish plane of his design.
In this class, you will make a similar plane that uses the same iron that Ron Hock developed for Mr. Krenov. We will also discuss plane design and sharpening.
Students will need to purchase materials including a Hock plane iron, and will leave the class with a fully functional finish plane.
